Artificial Intelligence and the College Classroom: A Multi-Disciplinary Seminar to Safeguard Student Learning
The CTL at LaGuardia has supported a collective learning group of faculty and staff from across disciplines to develop innovative pedagogical practices that ensure our students become AI literate by developing the knowledge and skills to understand, responsibly use, and critically evaluate the generative AI technologies.
The seminar offers a space for the participants to learn AI trends and tools that we face in the college classroom, discuss challenges, and develop effective pedagogical practices we can incorporate into courses.
The seminar activities include experimenting with AI software, role-playing, group discussion, and revising course material and assignment instruction. The seminar will conclude with a showcase of AI-proof pedagogies for the broader college community at the end of Fall 2024.
